Gregory S. FitzgeraldI'm a behavioral neuroscientist. I did my PhD at the University at Albany (SUNY), where my dissertation measured how far cognitive findings travel between species: rodents gain roughly 2.5x more from environmental enrichment than people do in comparable studies. Standard lab housing is bare enough that "enrichment" mostly means relief from deprivation -- which matters a great deal for deciding which drug candidates are worth taking to the clinic.

I've worked at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, CUNY, and the University at Albany. I'm first author of a publication in CNS Neuroscience & Therapeutics and a contributing author on a Cell paper. I work at the bench and in R and Python, and most of my time now goes to evidence synthesis: pulling findings out of published studies, checking them, and combining them into an answer that holds together.

I'm currently building the automated meta-analysis pipeline behind the Metascience Observatory, a project that estimates how well published research replicates across fields. More about me
